I hope you all read the first and second chapters of the Moving in exodus because if you skip them, you'll be lost :s.
If you read the first two, thank you :D and this is the last chapter of my moving in triology.

So before you move your boxes into your new apartment, vaccum and mop (maybe wax if it's a wooden rough floor) first. Buy cleaning materials from the nearest supermarkets (like Shaws, Stop and Shop, Price Chopper, or even Walgreens). Clean the windows and shelves first then the floor because all the dust will fall on the floor.
Vaccum first, mop next then possibly wax. Then you can carry your boxes into your house. I know it will sound like a waste of time because the boxes will be dirty and everything, but leave your boxes outside your room and slowly unpack from there.

If you can paint your walls, paint it first before cleaning. Don't forget to get masking tape, a lot of newspapers, painting materials and gloves. If your landlord/lady tells you that you cant paint the wooden parts, put a masking tape over it. Then put at least a layer of newspaper on the floor to prevent paint droplets on the floor. Then you will be ready to paint. Wear gloves!

If the original color is a dark color, paint two layers of white. If you want your walls to be pretty white, paint three layers or maybe four - depending on the original shade of your wall. After the two layers of white, you can now paint to whatever color you want. If you want a super dark color - like brown, violet, or black, you don't have to spend hours painting layers of white.

Okay, so going back to the boxes. Before you open your boxes, get different furnitures that you will be needing immediately. Like tones of hangers, a closet, a bookshelf, a bed etc. If you chose to do this online, do this at least a week or two in advance. But if you're going to a store, then great, you won't have to wait like me.

After getting the basic furnitures, you can unpack. Start with the closet - hang all the clothes that needs to be hanged, and fold the ones that needs to be folded. After that, you can start with the books (if you have any).

Make sure to put the bulky furniture by the wall so you will have some space to walk around when you start living. After all the unpacking, you can vaccum again and you're done! Decorate your room the way you like it.

Note: If your furniture is really heavy, don't force yourself, ask someone for a helping hand before you injure yourself. When you're building someting (like a bookshelf), the sides are sharp so be careful!

Good luck to you if you are moving to a new apartment this summer!
